From PC to the Big Leagues: Former Pirate Cade Fujii Signs with the Athletics!

In a historic milestone for Porterville College Athletics, former standout shortstop Cade Fujii has officially signed a professional contract with the Athletics (formerly Oakland Athletics) organization.

The signing marks a BIG achievement for the program, making Fujii the first player under PC Baseball Head Coach J.L. Buchanan to sign with a Major League Baseball (MLB) organization.

Fujii, who anchored the infield for the Pirates during the 2024 season, has taken the ultimate leap toward the Majors after showcasing the skill, work ethic, and tenacity that define PC student-athletes. His achievement represents one of the most significant athletic milestones in recent college history, putting a well-deserved spotlight on the athletic development happening right here in the Central Valley.
